Appointment of Governors, Cardiff Metropolitan University

Cardiff Metropolitan University is one of the UK’s most progressive new Universities, with around 10,000 students based at its two campuses in Cardiff and 10,000 studying Cardiff Met degrees at 16 partner institutions around the world. Taught programmes and research are undertaken across five Schools; Art and Design; Education and Social Policy; Sport and Health Sciences; Management; and Technologies. Almost a quarter of the University’s students are postgraduates and over 10% of Cardiff-based students are international (from beyond the EU). The University consistently ranks in the top ten per cent of UK higher education institutions for graduate start-ups per student, and this spirit of innovation and enterprise lies at the heart of the university. The University is part way through an ambitious Strategic Plan 2017 - 2023 that will see it concentrating on enhanced student outcomes, diversification in its disciplinary breadth and growth in its overall scale.

Good governance is vital to the health and prosperity of the University and the role of Governor has been increasingly important in recent years as the University takes forward its ambitious programme.
