Chief Executive Officer, Cambridge Science Centre
We are looking for a CEO who can lead an ambitious and fast-developing outreach and hands-on science centre in the UK, and take it to the next stage.
Our goal is to open up horizons for our visitors and help them understand the value of STEM as part of vital skills for day-to-day life and future careers. We do that through a unique combination of outreach and centre-based hands-on exhibits, shows and activities.
In the years leading up to Covid, we typically reached out to around 70,000 children and adults a year. We are now planning for expansion, and aim to reach 200,000 through building partnerships and attracting new funding. Our academic and scientific industry neighbours provide the perfect environment for us to work collaboratively and expand our reach, ensuring we connect with the poorest areas of East Anglia.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Board of Trustees, and be responsible for the leadership, strategic development and management of the Centre.
You will represent the charity and promote its vision, mission, values and work to key stakeholders, partners and the wider general public. You will will also be responsible for identifying opportunities for growth, business development and diversification to ensure the financial sustainability of the organisation.
Acting as ambassador for the charity, you will also provide the public face for campaigns and build relationships with stakeholders in business, politics and the media, and play a key role in motivating and engaging volunteers, staff, beneficiaries and prospective donors.
This is an exciting time for CSC as we emerge from lockdowns, begin welcoming in-person engagements and continue our journey.
Help us make a difference!
