The University of Liverpool seeks an exceptional Head of Trusts & Corporate Philanthropy, a newly created role within the Development & Alumni Relations Team (DART). It is one of several key new positions we will be recruiting through an exciting period of growth in the months and years ahead, leading up to our 150th Anniversary in 2031.

The University of Liverpool is the original ‘red brick’, founded in 1881 thanks to philanthropy, and has been transforming lives through an ever-evolving portfolio of academic programmes, an ongoing commitment to widening participation in higher education and an impressive range of internationally acclaimed, life-changing research.

As Head of Trusts & Corporate Philanthropy, you will work closely with world-leading experts and senior leaders across the University to support their important work through philanthropic activity. Whether it be through attracting students from diverse backgrounds to achieve their potential, accelerating groundbreaking medical research, or creating opportunities for scientific advances needed to deliver a sustainable future for our planet, the projects we support have a profound and lasting global impact.

You will sit at the heart of our Development & Alumni Relations Team, a team that is bursting with potential to do great things. Reporting into the Associate Director of Development, you will be part of the Development leadership team and will lead on trusts and corporate giving efforts across the University. You will be responsible for forging warm, supportive relationships with academic and professional services colleagues, funders and senior volunteers and will be adept at writing standout, compelling proposals. We recognise the significant impact that trust and foundation income can have on our work and you will have the opportunity (and budget) to build a team to grow income from this source.

This is a rare opportunity for an outstanding fundraising strategist to transform the scale of institutional fundraising in a leading Russell Group institution with tremendous links and connections to develop. Our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tim Jones, took up his position in January 2023 – creating new opportunities for donor engagement – and we are immersed in planning for our anniversary campaign; this is an exciting moment to join the University of Liverpool with enormous fundraising potential.

Equal Opportunity

The University of Liverpool is committed to providing an environment which recognises, values, respects and celebrates people’s differences and strengths. Equality, Diversity & Inclusion are at the heart of all we do. Working together, as a community, we will create an even more inclusive culture, which aims to maximise the potential of our staff and students.
