Increasing non-executive diversity is a high priority. Many boards seek to become more representative of wider society or of the communities they serve, and to realise the benefit that different perspectives bring.
There is a particular gap in representation of people coming from the global majority, as well as people with disabilities, younger perspectives, and other characteristics.
There is no shortage of talented people who can and want to contribute. Board Prospects is an initiative administered and facilitated by Minerva to provide boards with apprentice members, and people from under-represented backgrounds with the opportunity to develop their experience of governance. Participating in the scheme provides professional development and enables apprentices to build their CVs for their future careers.
We are now recruiting member organisations and participants for a start in Autumn 2023.
