Professor of Health (Social Sciences), Nottingham Trent University

The School of Social Sciences – one of the nine constituent Schools of Nottingham Trent University – is looking for a new Professor of Health who will play a leading role in further developing research in the Institute of Health and Allied Professions. 


The School is a dynamic and fast-growing part of the University, with a strong commitment to professional education, social mobility and widening participation.   There are five other Departments within the School that complement the work of the Institute:  Social and Political Sciences; Social Work, Care and Community; Criminology and Criminal Justice; Nottingham Institute of Education; and Psychology. The school  is on a growth trajectory, developing a deeper and richer profile of research and impact, targeting expansion in student numbers, and forging stronger external partnerships. 


The appointee will join a successful and growing team of researchers with interests in health and wellbeing, public and population health, and a range of clinical and non-clinical areas.    This is an ideal role for someone who wants to build on their research strengths, to develop cross -disciplinary research collaborations within the University and beyond, and to make a positive difference in enhancing the research culture within the Institute of Health and Allied Professions.


Ideal candidates will have an established research profile as evidenced by a strong publication and grant capture record.  They will have the ability to think strategically and to provide research leadership as well as to lead, motivate and coordinate others.
