Professor of Global Health and Director of Eastern Africa Centre, Nottingham Trent University
Nottingham Trent University is looking for a new Professor of Global Health and Director of our expanding Eastern Africa Centre.
The Eastern Africa Centre is an interdisciplinary initiative to harness the university’s growing partnerships across the region focused on public health, ecological restoration and developing early career networks. At present the work of the Centre draws on colleagues from the School of Social Sciences, the School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences and biochemists in the School of Science and Technology. The post-holder’s substantive post will be located in the School of Social Sciences, a dynamic and fast-growing part of the University, with a strong commitment to professional education, social mobility and widening participation.
The appointee will join a successful and growing team and will take a leadership role, developing strategy and partnerships, attracting income, supporting academic career development and delivering innovative research and knowledge exchange activities. This is an ideal role for someone who wants to build on their research strengths and to develop cross -disciplinary research collaborations within the University and beyond.
Ideal candidates will have an established research profile as evidenced by a strong publication and grant capture record, with an interest in Eastern Africa or expertise that can be applied to the region. They will have the ability to think strategically and to provide research leadership as well as to lead, motivate and coordinate others.
