Development Director, Sidney Sussex College, University of Cambridge

Sidney Sussex College seeks to appoint an exceptional individual as its next Development Director. Located in the heart of the historic city of Cambridge, Sidney Sussex was founded in 1596 and is the youngest of Cambridge’s “old colleges”. The College is proud of its 425 year history, but is eager to meet the challenges of our time. The College is known for its friendly atmosphere, and for its small and intimate community. Sidney Sussex has supported an active alumni and development programme for over 25 years. The College has a successful track record in fundraising.

The Development Director is responsible for setting and realising the College’s ambitious fundraising strategy, and for maintaining and enhancing relations between the College and its 8,000 alumni, its supporters, and other potential benefactors. The successful candidate will also oversee the work and progress of the Development Office. Future fundraising priorities include the provision of support for students in financial need, and the continuing improvement of College facilities for the benefit of students, Fellows and staff. The appointee will report to the Master and will be elected a Fellow of the College, reflecting the seniority and significance of the post.
